ソラランド平尾台のペルセウス座流星群鑑賞会に行ってきました
ペルセウス座流星とは
毎年8月13日頃に見頃を迎えるペルセウス座流星群は、三大流星群の一つとして知られています。 スイフト・タットル彗星がまき散らした塵が地球の大気と衝突することで、夜空を華やかに彩ります。
I attended the Perseid meteor shower viewing event at Soraland Hiraodai on August 12, 2024. The Perseid meteor shower is one of the three major meteor showers and peaks around August 13 each year. When dust particles from the Swift-Tuttle comet collide with Earth’s atmosphere, they create a beautiful display in the night sky.
ソラランド平尾台の駐車場（臨時駐車場）は大変混み合っており、思っていたよりも早く出発するべきでした。20時前に到着予定でしたが、結局20時30分に入園。ここまで混雑するとは予想外でしたね。
渋滞は21時以降も続いたようです。
The temporary parking lot at Soraland Hiraodai was extremely crowded, and I realized I should have left much earlier than I planned. I aimed to arrive by 8 PM, but it ended up being 8:30 PM before I could enter. I didn’t expect it to be so congested. The traffic jam seemed to continue even after 9 PM.
ソラランド平尾台の中は、想像をはるかに超える人だかりでした。特に出入口や駐車場側に近い芝生広場は、まるで星の海のように人で埋め尽くされていました。ソラランド平尾台最大のイベント？と思わずにはいられません。
The crowd at Soraland Hiraodai was much larger than I had imagined. The grassy area near the entrance and parking lot was packed with people, like a sea of stars. I couldn’t help but wonder if it was Soraland Hiraodai’s biggest event ever.

写真の下は流れ星かと思って確認しましたが、残念ながら飛行機でした。実は慌てて出かけたため、コンデジしか持っていかなかったのが悔やまれます。暗い場所での撮影は、やはりプロ仕様のようなカメラの方が設定や調整がしやすいですね。とはいえ、肉眼では何度か大きな流れ星を見ることができ、周囲からも歓声が上がって、素敵な夜空を楽しむことができました。
I thought I’d captured a shooting star in my photo, but upon closer inspection, it turned out to be an airplane. Unfortunately, I was in such a hurry that I only had a compact camera with me. I regret not bringing my DSLR for night photography. However, I was able to see several large shooting stars with my naked eye, and the collective cheers from those around me made for a wonderful night sky experience.
ちょっとカメラの話を
RICOH GRシリーズで天体を撮影する人はあまりいないかもしれませんね。しかし、先ほどの写真を見る限り、このカメラでも撮影できそうです。ただ気になった点もありました。RICOH GR IIIx HDFでバルブ撮影を試してみたところ、ISO感度を上げて長時間露光すると、処理中にモニターが落ちてしまうという現象が発生。一度モニターが落ちると、処理が完了するまで再起動できないようです。FUJIFILM X100VIではこのようなことは起きなかったので、RICOH GRシリーズはバルブ撮影に特化したカメラではないため、このような仕様になっているのかもしれません。これについてはマニュアルを確認してみようと思います。
まとめ
晴れていれば沢山の星を芝生で寝ながら観察する素晴らしいイベントですが、非常に人気なイベントなため、時間に余裕をもって現地に行くことを強くオススメします
今回は星が見え始める20時前から周辺の道路が渋滞になり、入園までにかなりの時間が掛かってしまいました。
このイベントのソラランド平尾台及び駐車場の営業時間が22時までなので、最悪の場合は数分しか星を見れない可能性があります。
“It’s not common to use a RICOH GR series camera for astrophotography, but based on the photos I took, it seems capable. However, I encountered an issue when trying bulb exposures with my RICOH GR IIIx HDF. When I increased the ISO and extended the exposure time, the monitor would unexpectedly shut down. Once this happened, I couldn’t restart the camera until the image processing was complete. I didn’t experience this with my FUJIFILM X100VI, so it seems like the RICOH GR series might not be optimized for long exposures. I’ll have to check the manual for more details.
While it was a fantastic event to lie on the grass and stargaze on a clear night, the popularity of the event led to significant traffic congestion starting around 8 PM. This caused a considerable delay in entering the park. Given that Soraland Hiraodai and its parking lot close at 10 PM, there was a risk of having very limited stargazing time if you arrived too late.”
